What you need

kiweely can run a conversation on Claude Code using your own Claude subscription. You need kiweely, a Claude plan with Claude Code access, and a Workday sign-in for the tenant you want to work in. A Claude subscription does not grant Workday access; your Workday permissions still determine what the agent can see and do.

Anthropic documents Claude Code access for Pro and Max and for Team and Enterprise accounts. On an organization plan, check that your seat has Claude Code access. Claude usage follows your Anthropic account's limits and billing terms.

Connect Claude in kiweely

  1. Open Settings and choose Claude as your AI service.
  2. Let kiweely check for Claude Code on this computer. If it is missing, choose Install Claude Code; if it is too old, follow the update step shown.
  3. Choose Sign in with your Claude account when prompted. Finish on Anthropic's page in your browser. If Anthropic gives you a code, return to kiweely and enter it there.
  4. Wait for the readiness check to say Claude is ready, then continue.

If you have already signed in to Claude Code on this computer, kiweely can use that existing sign-in. Its setup checks the installed program, the sign-in, and whether Claude can answer. It does not ask you to paste a Claude API key.

Connect the Workday tenant separately

Start a conversation in the right client or project and connect its Workday tenant. The Workday sign-in is separate from Anthropic's. Name the tenant and the task before asking Claude to act, especially if you work across clients or environments.

For a first task, try a request with an answer you can check:

In this connected tenant, find the available WQL data source for active workers. Show the fields you used and run a small query. Tell me what Workday returned.

Ask Claude to distinguish a proposed query from one it actually ran. If the tenant or connection is unavailable, it should say so; a plausible query alone is not a verified result. The WQL guide explains what to check in the query.

What stays separate

A new Claude conversation runs on Claude Code. A conversation already started on ChatGPT or OpenRouter does not turn into a Claude conversation; start a new one if you want to change engines. Your client and project context remains in kiweely, while each AI service uses its own account. The comparison explains what each setup can reach.
